Use your normal CW keyer. Place the paddle next to something so it sends a
continuous stream of dots. Nice 50% duty cycle and adjustable rate. No RF
involved.
Worked for me when I did a similar measurement with vacuum relays...

Thanks Mike. That is exactly the relay timing circuit I am using. Now I
just need to check the timing and adjust as needed.
His method for measuring the time delay appearts to use a little circuit to
key the exciter. I would rather make sure my relays are properly timed
before I start making any RF. Or am I misinterpreting his setup???

The full spec sheet will also give you typical operating values for Class AB,
B, and C. Its sometimes less stressful than digging over ideal curves which
need tweaking anyway in the real world.
