Here are my 3 cents worth, following Roger's 2 cents.

There are maxims developed over 50 years:

1.  The more complex a project is, the less likely it is to get built. 

2.  The power dissipation of the tube is often less restrictive than the air 
and power supply capability.  

3.  Having a pair of tubes is somewhat like having twin children - it takes 
extra work to know which to blame if something goes wrong (I am a twin, I know).
