Butterflies are not that bad --  if you do not ground the rotor and use the
two stators as the two ends of the cap, you have half the min capacitance
(important at VHF) twice the breakdown voltage, and no poor rotor contact

Paul , I just called Bob at Monarch scince his website is down , he says you
can contact him directly by email and he is sure he can help you out he has
the facilities to make pretty much what ever you need , I have been asking
for about a yr if he has moved to ordinary air variables but he thinks there
wouldnt be much call for them , if a few of us ask he will start producing
something a little less expensive than what is available from the mainstream
scources but until then he has a fair offering of butterflies
