It is always preferrable to have a second or third source when needed.
While RFP has always made good on DOA tubes I dont expect that to happen when they are claimed to be tested. The ones Ive returned have always been defective within 30 seconds of powering up.

You may be right, but I'd rather buy from someone I know.
I've bought from RF Parts for a long time and never had any problems. Only tube that ever went bad was my fault and they still replaced it for free. 73

       In my opinion, a "reputable  distributor" doesn't have anything to
do with the issue.  99% of all new 572B's come from the same factory in
China.  If the tubes won't meet muster, the problem is in the factory, not
the distributor.
