It is always preferrable to have a second or third source when needed.
While RFP has always made good on DOA tubes I dont expect that to happen
when they are claimed to be tested. The ones Ive returned have always been
defective within 30 seconds of powering up.

You may be right, but I'd rather buy from someone I know.

Only tube that ever went bad was my fault and they still replaced it for

In my opinion, a "reputable distributor" doesn't have anything to
do with the issue. 99% of all new 572B's come from the same factory in
China. If the tubes won't meet muster, the problem is in the factory, not
the distributor.
