Micrometals 2 mix, usually a stack of 2 T200-2's wrapped with Scotch 27 tape, then Teflon insulated #14 stranded or solid. However starting from scratch will require about twice the inductance of just adding 160 to the amp.

Use the Micrometals turns calculators to see if it fits. If not there are wider choices.

I'm going to convert a SB221 to a single band 160M amp. It seems most of the amps these days use a toroidal coil for the 160M Output PI network. Does anybody know what cores are typically used for the 160M toroid?

Thanks
