This seems to happen because the message was sent in HTML. One of the
automatic updates of Thunderbird may have changed its behavior -- it
used to send in both plain text and HTML, but that feature doesn't seem
to work consistently any more. I'll try to remember to send them in
plain text, like this one which I'm sure will get through.
