Series-resonant screen bypassing works, and was not unusual in the days of the
4-125A or 4-250A 50 and 144 MHz amplifiers.
It can however be difficult to adjust especially if there are 4 tubes.

Agreed.
I recall from an ARRL handbook 40 years ago that a .001 uF disk
ceramic cap with leads about 1/2 inch was series resonant at six
meters. Excellent screen bypass, but as others have pointed out the
socked with built in caps is probably best.
