Amps running 100% duty cycle modes need a lot of overhead.  Re-tuning is fine for the legal limit minded, but many will use that overhead to run 2.5 KW or however much they can get out of it.

Microprocessor  controlled auto-tune amps generally are programmed to run a max of 1500 watts in any mode, regardless of how much overhead is present, BUT using ALC has often led to a lag with the leading edge of the drive hitting the top of that overhead producing a full bore pulse
