1994 Wisconsin QSO Party Score Rumors & Comments 3/18/94

Well, another 7-hour Wisc. QSO Party is history. My Internet offer of a free
pound of official Wisconsin Cheese to the top out-of-state entrant seemed to
encourage many of you to get on and work us Cheeseheads! BIG THANKS to these
Internet guys who showed up in my log: K9EC, KH6GMP, WD0T, N7LOX, K6XO,
KI4HN, K7GM, K3LR, AA6MC, WB9TIY, K0GU, AA7NX (& probably more). Also Major
Big Thanks to AJ9C and KE9I who drove to Wisc. all the way from Indiana to
operate Multi-Mobile and gave out many new counties!!

I have decided to give two cheese prizes this year. One to the overall top
out-of-state entrant as reported in official results. The other prize to the
top out-of-state entrant that sends me their score via Internet (an Internet
only prize, if you will.) So, if you beat WD0T's score, get it in now!

These score rumors are anything but complete. Most guys didn't think to try
3830 after the test. I don't believe there will be any big rifts in the top
three in-state scores, however. Corrections/additions to KA9FOX@AOL.COM

SOAPBOX:

AA6KX: TERRIBLE conditions! Very few stations made it to California. I
looked
and looked and looked, cuz I wanted that cheeze.

AJ9C/9 (& KE9I): Started the project on Saturday afternoon, about 3 P.M.
Wired up my wifes brand new Ford F-150 pickup with 12V and ant mount. Got
done at about 10 P.M. Sleep (3 hours), get up at 2:30 A.M. and drive drive
drive !!! Contest starts hey where is everybody! The bands really were
stinko! Had lots of fun, put almost 1000 miles on in 24 hours ! Should win
the cheese for that!

KH6GMP: 7 qso points times 6 mults = 42 points (God, no cheese!)

KT0P: Went for the cheese, but only got the holes! Operating time=90 min.
All CW, all 40 mtrs (indoor 20 meter dipole with tuner).

W9UP (as heard on 3830): RF feedback problem on 20 SSB made QSOs there tough.

W9XT (as heard on 3830): Complete hard drive crash.

WD0T: Was fun to work all you WI cheeseheads!! Only worked one on 20m with
the most on 40m and a few 80m Q's. Only put in 3.5 hrs, but made my goal of
100 q's.

W0AIH: Big problems most of contest with 40 mtr amp relay - caused major
receive signal attenuation. Lucky 40 stunk! First time using two rigs in
high rate contest. Worked 2 VY1s and 2 KH6s. Missed OK, NE, WY, VE2, VE4
(Derrick & Rob!!), Labrador, NWT, PEI.
