What caught the eye of WA6OTU that led to his conclusion that
the beverage he saw were poorly engineered? There are no
specifics.
I am always looking for things to do to improve the shack. With
the upcoming sun spot minumum around the corner, competitors will
be forced to improve their stations on the low bands.

I will be operating the ARRL DX CW contest from C6A in the Single Op
category. I am still negotiating for a C6A callsign, hoping that I

Well, propagation was great, but conditions were awful!
With all the beverages at our disposal, we usually hear quite well.
This time, however, with all the QRN, we were all but deaf!
The noise level was incredible both nights due to storms being in
the area. In fact we had to QRT from time to time, while storms
were directly overhead the first night. Our apologies to those who
called but were not heard. We will hope for better conditions
during the phone contest. (We are all also being fitted
with hearing aids now!) Incidentally, we observed the DX window
between 030 and 035 during the entire contest, never calling CQ
there. We never did hear much DX there calling CQ though...
For those who worked the KB4GID call, it was operated by my dad,
N4LDZ, who did pretty well considering our meager station.

I don't know why sprint dates are so hard. I am sorry for the confusion!!
The sprints are on Saturday. SSB this saturday the 4th (5th UTC) and CW
the next Saturday the 11th (12th UTC).
My earlier posting had the right weekends, but showed the dates on Sunday.
My mistake.
