Hans, read it again. He said "VHF/UHF", not Novice/Tech.
ALL stations have been able to run "free" vhf/uhf stations.
Only 2A and above could run the "free" Novice/Tech station.
I hope this doesn't change, either. I like to run 1A, and the
vhf/uhf Q's do make a big difference to us.....
