Hey! Hey! Hey! I happen to like phone! With proper phonetics, phone is
much easier. But with some of the "cute" ones people like to use it is
very difficult. I stay asking them until I am SURE of what they are
saying. In 95% of the cases, I don't have a problem.
I agree though, CW is easier to get it right the first time. Unless of
course, you can't copy at 25 or 30 wpm (I sure can't!)!

I see this mistake all the time of the zero and the "OH", 0 and O. , made by
inexperienced typists and computer operators. I try to catch them when I
operating in the multi op environment and tell the other op the error of his
ways. After the contest is over I read the log and correct those obvious
typos. I do not consider that a violation of operating contest rules and
limitations of log editing. I wish computer manufacturers could put the /
in the 0, so we could avoid such errors. I see the same problem with 1 and
l, one and El. Operating a contest with CT the first time must be mind
boggling for a new operator, especially one who is not a competent or
experienced computer or typewriter operator. This reflector is used mostly
by experienced proficient CT, NA, and TR fans. Pity those trying to enter
and keep up. We must master many skills to be competitive. Radio is a
