Dave,

I've SEEN you walking and chewing gum...and you're right.
The mercury amalgam is no big deal.

On the other hand, consider the poor dentist, drilling
all that amalgam! It's a wonder K3WW can sit in the
chair for a full contest, or send code at all!!

Ragnar....you're right, silly season has struck.
Young David is the former neighbor of an old friend
of mine from High School, W2REH. Dave learned to
contest by hanging out at Joe's house.

Let's see....blue wax, I think.....and off I go through
the woods! (happy Spring!)

Hmmm....I grew up in New Jersey....

I think that mercury from amalgam is one of the least of my worries!!!

The newspaper here had today a note about chewing gum and Amalgam. It
turns
out the gum is releasing mercury from your fillings, which is not so
good.
What this has to do with contesting is beyond me !

Subject: [CQ-Contest] Honor Sprint?
Message-ID: <018801c1d506$df6d8020$74e6bfa8@mirage>

Hey, Sprinters! A while back I sponsored an "Honor Sprint" that ran under
the same rules as the regular North American Sprint, sponsored by the NCJ,
but without any of the formal log checking - honor-system reporting only.
It was "just for fun" and to keep the skills sharp in the long time between
February and September.

Is there any interest in running one again this May? May 12th (0000Z) looks
like a good date (although the CQ-M contest is also running that weekend)
and is the weekend before the Dayton Hamvention, so you won't be in the
doghouse for buying stuff :-) We could run for either two hours and make it
a 20/40-meter contest, or the full four hours and use 20/40/80.
Suggestions? Other options include making it earlier in the day and trying
a 10/15-meter format.
