I don't have the Annotated Rules for CQWW handy, but I have had a fair
amount of experience with this issue (as Scorekeeper for YCCC).

An individual operator can operate from as many stations (single-op or
multi-op) as he or she wishes (and can get to during the contest period),
and all of those points can count toward the operator's club's score (if
desired). It is common for someone to participate in a M/M (say) and get
on for several hours from home. I know of an instance in which one
operator participated in several multi-ops. All of this is completely
above-board. The key is that the stations are separate stations. An
operator at a multi-op cannot (within the rules) make QSOs under his or her
own callsign from a radio that is part of multi-op setup.

To provide closure on this thread, it would help to have the "ungarbled
word" from the CQWW Committee.

I'm not sure that's correct. I believe you can only have your callsign on
ONE Log.
If you're in a M/M and listed as an operator, you can't operate (and turn
in
a log or be in the M/M log as a QSO). If you could, everyone would just
list
the operators at the start.
