Certainly, a single element per band!! A dipole or a vertical.
A 5 element wire yagi for 80 meters fixed on Europe is certainly wire,
however it completely subverts the intent of the category!!

Wires only is not really enough.
I think "single element" is more appropriate.
One can be very competitive with multi-element wire antennas; e.g. KT3Y.
Someone with a vertical and a couple of low band dipoles really has no peer
group in any of the existing categories.
