Here is my 2 cents worth....the nq4i m-m station has historically used the
MP for the 11 stations...one year we were one MP short...so one member
suggested he bring his new MKV...we first put it on 40m as the mult
station...it began locking up when the other rig transmitted...so we moved
it to 10m...again as the mult station...same problem...kept locking up and
having to reset the radio..only place it would operate was 160m since there
is just one station there...the filter selection process is not as flexible
as the MP either...so didn't use the MKV any more...I have graduated to the
1000D as my radio of choice now...it is a lot of bang for the $$...we have 6
of them in the station...they are the primary run radios now....and the MP
is the mult radio of choice...they work well together and are fairly easy to
switch between for the op's...I think Yaesu did not make the MKV or the
Field with the same bullet proof innards as the MP...de Rick NQ4I
