There is a persistent rumor that K6STI and S56A developed a DOS morse code reading program about ten years ago that was so good, that they decided that it would not be appropriate to release it, for fear that it would change the entire nature of cw contesting. An old posting by S56A states that the Windows program MRP40 comes close to the performance of K6STI's program. I haven't tried either one, but there is a trial version of MRP40 available on the Web.
