Several years ago, I suggested to ARRL, that 1D stations, calling CQ, be
required to append "1D" to their call sign...K4WW/1D. If those 1D stations
that "just happened onto the frequency", saw that, they wouldn't waste time,
calling another 1D station? Obviously, this is presuming that they knew
enough about the rules, to realize that.
On another note, I find it amazing that some "home" stations could maintain
a rate of more than 100, per hour, CW, for the duration of the "event"?
Especially when, while only operating 10 hours, I never heard them, on any
band? IMHO...very possible, but highly unlikely?
