I have stayed at the Crowne Plaza for decades and I see it a bit
differently.
They have renovated (and improved) a large portion of the hotel and the work
continues.
More importantly, they have changed their attitude towards hams and now
treat us like hotel guests instead of "foreign invaders".

The only negative for me was ending the live bands they had at the rooftop
bar on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. They were some really talented
people and that provided a good break from the radio-focused routine for me
- just at the end of an elevator ride.
Oh, and the banquet food is less than perfect too. But, that's not the main
reason I attend the Contest Dinner.

Like the Hara arena, I think the Crowne Plaza has deteriorated over the
years. I'll stay elsewhere next time.
