I fear beginning contesters might be hearing a few loud signals not ID'ing
at all and think that waiting in line to work a mystery station is what
contesting is all about.

The beginning contesters may not have the ADHD necessary to just move on
after finding that loud signal and not hearing an ID for a few seconds.

Beginning contesters get frozen in the headlights trying to work that one
mystery station. That is very poor thing for a beginning contester to start
with.

I think the requirement to ID will help beginning contesters start to
develop the ADHD characteristics necessary.
