Hello,

I've read a few comments on 3830 about ops suffering of hallucinations when making full 48-hour efforts.

I've only suffered that once in 1997 when entering SOSB 21 Mhz from AY1I.

The issue was an improper diet the week before and eating way too much during the contest.

I had to take a short nap during the 2013 ARRL INT'L at CE3CT. Again the issue was what I was eating the week before.

You really need to eat right before the contest and make sure your liver is really clean.

During the contest I tend no to it. This past weekend I did a 48-hour fresh natural juice fasting (tnx LU5HM for that). That's all what's required.

Eventually you may eat a few nuts. (Nothing after 21 UTC on Saturday till sun is really high on Sunday morning for you).

The worst hours in my case are usually the two hours before sunrise on Sunday. If I notice it's taking me really long to reply to callers, I will simply operate standing up.

If you still need to ZZzz. Try a few short naps. Make sure someone is there to wake you up or you have at least 10 alarm clocks!

There are very nice articles on how much time a short nap needs to be out there.
