The 2018 version of the Georgia QSO Party is only a few weeks away. I
have been working hard to publicize it inside Georgia to get more fixed
stations to get on the air. One popular feature we added to the web page
is an activity map that has pins for all the counties that will be
active. You can see that map at
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1T2GOtNMFVMyoVwD_WtQoSkJw408zdIY4&usp=sharing
. A big thank you goes out to Chuck, NO5W, who provides the Google Map
overlays on his web page at http://www.no5w.com/CQxCountyOverlays-DL.php
. It's actually pretty easy to create a map of activity or maybe your
rover route. If you run a QSO party or just want to make a route map for
a rover operation contact me and I can share what I've learned with you.
Believe or not K4BAI and I have been going rovering for about 15 years
using the W4AN call sign. I thought it was about time (plus I have some
time on my hands :) ) to have a web page dedicated to our rover
contesting. Checkout http://ku8e.com/Radio/W4ANRover.php and tell me
what you think? There are some maps on it with our route for the GQP and
I will also add a map for the Florida QSO Party when it gets closer to
that weekend.
As always we are looking for any of you rover contesting aficionados
(you know who you are?) to come visit warm and sunny Georgia during the
weekend of April 14-15th and have some fun activating a bunch of Georgia
counties. Hopefully all of our hard work will make this event a fun time
for everyone both inside and outside of Georgia.
