What are the factors in choosing a contest logger? I'd say in this order
- Familiarity
- What friends recommend
- Functionality
- Price

There is no simple answer, just like when you purchase a radio -- you will
get a 1000 answers.

N1MM+, Win-Test, and WriteLog are the big players for big-boy contesters,
in no particular popularity order. Thre are lots of others, which are
fine, but these are the most popular.
For any of them, you need some level of computer skills to get them working.

Like anything in technology, doing the basics is easy, then it gets
harder. However, all three can do things well. Many can argue about
finer points or support for various functions, but that is somewhat noise.

Pick one and stick with it for a while.
