That's why I started asking questions,

If this new class has the same rules as the real 2 person WRTC teams rules?

The only possible difference I may see is this new M/2 doesn't limit it to just two operators.

Hi,

there is a new M/2 low power unassisted category (WRTC style) this year. See the rules page 6

I suspect that many of the WRTC teams for next year will be entering IARU
this year as M/2 entries under some facsimile of the WRTC rules. They’ll
submit check logs for the contest and get to practice for the real thing
next year.

There’s nothing preventing you (or a club or national society) from
organizing a competition of that nature. It’s prohibitive to set up
referees and identical stations but it could be done on the honor system. I think N0AX organized something like that in 2001 or 2003 after one of the
early WRTCs in Europe.

Thats also was gonna be the second thought.

Wouldn't it be neat for those of us not skilled enough,  OR maybe have the skills, but not the time to enter in all the various contests to qualify for a spot if they allowed us non WRTC Teams, to still outside the official competition, to still form teams and compete anyway with all the exact same
rules?

Last time I looked, there was no M/2 class for “regular” entrants to IARU. The WRTC teams operate as a M/2 (interlocked M/2 in Russia in 2010). I’m
not sure if there is a band change limit or timer for WRTC stations (I
suspect not).

I remember in the past, the teams like the ones that will be going to
Italy next year, are in like the Multi/2 class.

But I also remember they had slightly different rules than the rest of
us go by in the contest.

What is the differences  between the teams and the Multi/2 class?
