Remote operation is here to stay, naysayers not withstanding. It is
fabulous for new hams, who were not around to work entities that were on
before they were born. I'm sure people said SSB contacts did not count
when everybody was on AM; WSJT was not going to count, etc. Extending the
key and speaker to the farthest points on earth is just
an extension of modern technology.
Naysayers are free to not work remote stations, and miss out on all the fun.
It still takes a dedicated team to get the radio equipment to the an
entity. Those of us who operate remotely appreciate all the hard work of
station owners and DXpedition operators who allow us the opportunity to put
these entities on the air.
