from pinging my own network and changing a few configs (life's great when
you don't care about your ISP customers <g>)

latency through multiple hops

1 hop - minimum = 0 ms, max = 70 ms, avg = 3 ms
(going through a microcell) 2 hop - minimum = 10 ms, max = 160 ms, avg = 39
ms
(PtP to a microcell) 3 hop - minimum = 26 ms, max = 243 ms, avg = 54 ms

One thing to note, max pings are so high b/c of the polling algorithm (at a
certain point, you're not allowed to be polled anymore)
