In my continuing experiments with Prism 2.5 cards, I have discovered the
following:
Programming:
Slot A interface: TurboCell ISP Base Station w/ protocol filtering
Slot B interface: Wi-fi access point
With Slot A empty, I tried the following:
Power on AP-1000 with Orinoco Gold Card v8.10 in Slot B: Normal Boot.
Power on AP-1000 with Orinoco Gold Card v8.72 in Slot B: Normal Boot.
Power on AP-1000 with Avaya Gold Card v8.10 in Slot B: Normal Boot.
Power on AP-1000 with Avaya Gold Card v8.72 in Slot B: Normal Boot.
Power on AP-1000 with Avaya Silver Card v8.10 in Slot B: Normal Boot.
Power on AP-1000 with Avaya Silver Card v8.72 in Slot B: Normal Boot.
Power on AP-1000 with Agere OEM Card v8.52 in Slot B: Normal Boot.
Power on AP-1000 with Agere OEM Card v8.72 in Slot B: Normal Boot.
With an EnGenius 200mW card in Slot A, I tried the following:
Power on AP-1000 with Orinoco Gold Card v8.10 in Slot B: lock-up, boot
incomplete, single orange indicator light for Slot B.
Power on AP-1000 with Orinoco Gold Card v8.72 in Slot B: Normal Boot.
Power on AP-1000 with Avaya Gold Card v8.10 in Slot B: lock-up, boot
incomplete, single orange indicator light for Slot B.
Power on AP-1000 with Avaya Gold Card v8.72 in Slot B: Normal Boot.
Power on AP-1000 with Avaya Silver Card v8.10 in Slot B: 50% of time: normal
boot, AP becomes operational, other 50%: boot incomplete as above.
Power on AP-1000 with Avaya Silver Card v8.72 in Slot B: Normal Boot 100% of
(10 power on tries).
Power on AP-1000 with Agere OEM Card v8.52 in Slot B: Normal Boot.
Power on AP-1000 with Agere OEM Card v8.72 in Slot B: Normal Boot.
I wonder what it is about firmware v8.10 that seems to prevent the AP-1000 from
booting when a Prism 2.5 Card is present?
