I have used 24v to test with short cable and smoked the surface mounted
resisters next to the Ethernet port. Seem to work OK on long runs.

Does anyone know if there is a voltage regulator on
the RG-1000/RG-1100? If so, what range of voltages can
it cope with? I know the RG+ board can accept a wide
range of voltages (from 9v - 48v I think) but not sure
about the RG. I want to put some battery backup units
in some places, but the battery charger will mean that
voltages could vary a bit up to about 15v or so.
