Hi,
The KN-200 is better than an AP-1000/WavePoint-II?
We currently have a WavePoint-II w/ ISP Base software at one of our
(actually, our only) Turbocell site. It has about 30 satellites on it right
now (KN-100's).
Latency is always all over the place... is this not because of the
super-packet aggregation (or whatever it's called)? Should we upgrade that
WPII to a KN-200?
Will we get better throughput and lower latency, or is it not worth the 2hr
drive up a very rocky mountain to change out the unit? We're also running
an older Lucent Silver card - should this be upgraded?

Subject: [Karlnet] Flashrom hardware? How about a Routerboard 230?
I need a flashrom setup to handle a growing cell site. I have about 50
clients on a KN-200 board ( at least I think it is...it's the one with two
PCMCIA interfaces). We upgraded from and AP-1000 when performance was
getting poor and it was NIGHT and day difference on ping times/latency and
user perception of performance.
Well, ping times are getting high again and I was considering replacing the
KN-200 w/ some sort of a flashrom box. I want something small (a little
larger than an AP-1000 would be ok but not much more. I just don't have
room for it.
Will the karlnet flashrom setup run on a routerboard 230 from Mikrotik?
It's a 266Mhz setup and outdoor rated w/ a PCI slot and 2 PCMCIA slots, I
believe. Thoughts?
Thanks,
Bob
