Rick, You need the SA-4300 software if you want to use the AP-1000/AP-IIE as a Karlnet Sat. or as a Karlnet point to point master. If you want to use it as an ISP Base for point to multi-point you need SA-4400 software. If you wish to use the special encryption options, (beyond WEP), the part numbers are slightly different. Two places I have bought Karlnet products from are CW Labs in Chicago, IL (www.cwlab.com) and Winncomm in Solon, OH (www.winncom.com). I have used Lucent hardware with Karlnet software almost from the start. The Lucent hardware has been very reliable. However, if you plan to use this unit as an ISP base, I would recommend you check into building a Flash ROM based unit instead. The Lucent hardware is a bit slow when used as an ISP base with a large number of clients.
