Yeah that's the bug that's the focus of this thread. Still seeing it in 4.45-00. Have not yet tried 4.45-01 which appears to have been released 5 days ago.

Hello,

We see the same thing on occasion. When you access the "Turbocell Station Entries", all counters are frozen except one CPE that has only the retransmit counter increasing very rapidly. It is usually the CPE with the weakest signal.

Funny how the transmit counter to that faulty CPE does not increase, only the re-transmit counter... What is clear however is that ALL of the base's attention is focused on that lone CPE for the duration of the issue. It can sometimes last up to 5 minutes or more, but we usually reboot the base and everything comes back until the next time.

We have had this problem since 3.88 and maybe before, so it is not new. We reported this for the first time to Karlnet around May 2002 however the support channels at the time were much less developed than they are now.

We have also found that using a different channel is a way of getting rid of the problem.

I"ve documented a bunch of things that happen during this event....

I've noticed on the clients that the in discards start increasing, it
seems every packet received is "discarded", while looking at the AP you
can see it stuck on re-transmits to a cpe while the transmits DO NOT
increase

I *wish* I had a copy of that beta software, I"ve got numerous clients really p*ssed of at me....

works

I have been experiencing "IP Freeze" for over two months. Reggie
visited our office two weeks ago and was able to actually run a "walk"
during some of these freezes. According to him, it was the first time
they were actually able to catch a freeze in action. They had made
numerous trips to clients to see the "freezes" but when they got

there,

it never happened. We are currently running a "beta" version that

they

built to solve the problem.
All I can tell you right now is that we have not had any problems with
the problem since we loaded it three days ago.

Unfortunately, we lost a major client late last week due to this
problem. They went to DSL and are still using our wireless for
redundancy. However, most of their traffic is going over the DSL
connection. It was an automotive parts manufacturer and since they
left, we haven't had any freezes. Makes me wonder if they were not

the

problem all along or whether the bin file made the difference. I

guess

if the answers to these questions were more simple our lives would be
boring ;)

works

When we first upgraded to v4.45 it seemed to have prevented it from
happening, but now its happening dealing, generally during the day..

it

appears that all it takes for a karlnet cpe to get jammed w/
interference or poor signal and it brings down the entire AP

I've seen it fewer times since 4.45, but still do see it.

Bob,

I agree, if karlnet can't fix this I"ll have no choice... its very
frustrating when 30+ clients call me up (after I received the

FINE

Oh....I think the solution to this problem is Trango or Canopy.

This issue was brought up before and karlnet sent out some
questionnaires regarding the issue..

I've been dealing with this for quite some time and have gotten

little

response or feedback from karlnet

Anybody else still experience these issues?

I have noticed when this happens (I can't ping, but can link

test

fine)

the in discards go through the roof
