Dave, I had a similar problem on both a DOS laptop and a Win95 desktop. For me selecting the KEYER when you get to the EQUIPMENT CONTROL PANEL screen (about the 3rd one after starting up) fixed the problems - seems you can't send if NA thinks you don't have a keyer - you don't need a transmitter <g>. just a keyer.
