[Orion] Orion as an IF

Has anyone tried their Orion as an IF for use with VHF and UHF 
transverters? If so, I'd really be interested in your comments. It 
seems like this rig would be wonderful for weak signal work on these 
bands. I am curious how the AGC might work with all the added gain 
added by the preamp and transverter.    Dick   W5AK
