Just an update to my original report...
I received numerous suggestions:
-do a master reset (I have done all known kinds of resets!)
-Check for loose internal coax connections (none found)
-Check for RFI in shack (none obvious - I suppose it could be a trigger,
but in any case the rig stays locked up even when there is zero RF output)
-Firmware 1.373b5 is "known" to lock up. Change version.
So today, I loaded 1.372 and tried as hard as I could to make things
lock up - transmitting high power on all bands, lots of dits and QSK
changeovers. Running fine so far, but that doesn't prove anything.
