I just got a 19 inch Veiwsonic monitor to replace my 15 inch NEC multisync
4FGe that I have been using for the last few years. I get S5 - S8 noise every
75 - 77 KHz (this can be changed by changing the monitors refresh rate but
the problem remains). Thinking it might be this particular monitor I
switched it for a new NEC V90 19 inch monitor with no real change. The
interference seems to be coming from the monitor itself. If I turn off the
monitor with the computer running as normal the noise goes away. Seems to be
considerably less when using DOS programs. No amount of ferrites or toroids
on AC line or video cable make any difference. Moving the monitor away from
the receiver helps but the problem persists in any reasonable distance from
the operating position. The ground floor station has a good RF ground system.
The large viewing screen is very addictive
Have gone back to my 15 inch NEC but miss all that space for extra info
Has anyone had a similar problem and have a solution ??
Considering trying a flat screen LCD monitor but they are kinda expensive
