I have not had noise issues with the CFLs, just longevity issues. My
conclusion is my problem stems from the "enclosed nature" of the light
fixtures in my house. As soon as I get a set that lasts longer than the
incandescent bulbs I will start buying them for the rest of my house.

Me too!!!

The extreme range between people's experiences here, has me baffled.

I can believe that the RFI depends on brand, maybe even despite the
fact that they are all imported from the same country. So far I've
had good results with CFLs from established "American" bulb brands.

I don't know why my incandescents burn out and the CFLs last many
times longer, while others see exactly the opposite. I suppose it
might be explainable by AC power quality issues, but we don't know the
details on that.

Regards,
Andy
