Just to lighten it up a bit
After reading all the Keurig post I believe the answer is most obvious.. Try
Decaf..
I too have a humming Astron. Was on it's own circuit to the breaker box about
20 ft away
new wiring, new outlets, and hummed away. Had it load tested by a friend
everything
was fine. Never did find out what caused it. Did move it further away and off
the shelf
under the op table so I would not have to listen to it.
On another Keurig note. A buddy of mine owns a copier business and in his
travels
collects Keurig from offices that are no longer working and repairs them.
According
to him and you can check yourself as I did. There is a selonoid valve that is
activated
constantly when the machine is plugged in. If you listen and unplug the machine
you
will hear it click. In 99% of the machines this solenoid stops working. So to
lengthen
the life of the machine unplug when not in use. I think the replacement part is
a few
bucks but a pain to get too without destroying the machine.

Gents,
I'm surprised others have seen this happen and under differing
circumstances as well. An off list question asked me about the AC
voltage drop at the Astron when this was happening & I found the
following:
With the Astron turned on the voltage rests at 118.5 when the Keurig
is on & when the Astron hums the voltage drops to 115.6 & then
returns to 118.5 as soon as the hum stops. The hum lasts about 3
seconds each time and is not constant. I'm not thinking the 3V drop
as being significant to insufficient wiring, I have hooked other
coffeemakers to the same circuit in the past (Including a Delonge
pump expresso maker) but never heard anything like this with them
operation.
I have two Mackie HR824 studio monitors on my bench and since getting
the Keurig assumed this was some RFI getting into the monitors and
was more interested in the Keurig as bringing new RFI into the house.
It was only when I turned the monitors off and the sound happened
when I turned on the Keurig (K65 CLB/A) and the sound reappeared. I
then touched the speaker and it was not moving an explored to then
find it was the Astron that was vibrating.
Jim mentioned the grounding lug not being properly grounded on other
AStrons and I'll have to open the PS & see what gives with this one
