Hi Ken,
So far I have been lucky, and S-meter Lite has worked with any radio I
own... As you mentioned, the limiting factor is CAT, hence the stand
alone device for measuring RFI... I wanted to get away from CAT
totally. I have a FT-900 in my car, and a THF6, both have soft
S-meters, not real meters. Right now I am looking for a portable radio
that will do something on the order of 40 meters, that has a real S
Meter. One I can tap! :)

I am also working on a new hand-held DF loop... I will publish
construction details on the web site when finished for both projects. I
expect the loop to be finished within the next month or so. I want
something that is tough, and works, and will let me take bearings and
make triangulation data.
