Replace it with a twenty-five to fifty cent linear supply from a thrift shop
of the same specification. You want noise or silence? You can drop a few
tens of bucks over a few weeks to try to make the switching mode supply
quieter, but, I think the goal is silence, not an exercise in frustration
while throwing away time and money.
