I'm digging through boxes and the bones of past projects to see if I
have a 6EF1. I have used a number of that type over the years. The
ones I had were very effective at HF and 6M but did little to
nothing at 2M. If I don't find one in my stuff I will pick one up on
eBay and try it.

I did a search and they are on Amazon from another vendor, maybe Ebay too. Tnx for the good info. 73 Dale, K9VUJ On 21, May 2015, at 11:25, Jim Brown <jim@audiosystemsgroup.com> wrote: On Thu,5/21/2015 5:45 AM, Tom Lizak wrote:I found that replacing the AC connector of the computer p/s with a CorCom 6EF1 line filter works getting rid of the RFI/hash from the switching p/s which is most likely the problem.Yes. If I'm understanding you correctly, this is a filter sort of built into the universal male line plug. An important reason why filters like this, which are relatively simple ones by virtue of their size, works so well is that it is internal to the computer chassis and its green wire is bonded to the shielding enclosure. 73, Jim K9YC _______________________________________________ RFI mailing list RFI@contesting.com http://lists.contesting.com/mailman/listinfo/rfi _______________________________________________ RFI mailing list RFI@contesting.com http://lists.contesting.com/mailman/listinfo/rfi -- Paul Kelley, N1BUG RFI Committee chair, Piscataquis Amateur Radio Club http://www.k1pq.org _______________________________________________ RFI mailing list RFI@contesting.com http://lists.contesting.com/mailman/listinfo/rfi |
