Jamie,All of the below! Many reasons, but when you are dealing with 7200 or 14,400 volts and a whole lot of amps, doesn't take much to cause noise. Another common cause is very simply the clips that hold the ground cable to the pole. These can make and break, causing noise. Congratulations on winning a very important 'transmitter hunt" !
