The sheilding on Cat-6A is more about the lan signal not getting interfered
with vs not interfering with stuff

question about RFI & USB

For what it's worth, I wired my whole house with unshielded CAT 6 cable,
before the shielded stuff and connectors were available. While I do have a
bunch of ferrite on the cables at the router, etc., I've had no incoming RFI
problems, even on 160, where I feed 1.5 kW to my shunt fed tower about 15
meters from the house. I suspect some of the router birdies I hear are
coming from my own router, and perhaps shielded cables would have reduced
them. I'm not sure how much it would really help, as all my neighbors have
routers, too. In any case, I'm all done crawling around in the attic
insulation, so those cables aren't going to get shielding.
