But as Dave correctly observed, a conventional commercial filter won't
work unless you can bond the chassis of the filter to the chassis of the
product. That can be pretty invasive for many user devices.
If you think about it, winding turns of the line cord around a ferrite
core is about as non-invasive as you can get. The only thing less
invasive is doing nothing. :)
