The good news is that you (nearly) can. I've just bought one from Aria,
www.aria.co.uk have significantly cheaper 15 and 17 inch lcd monitors than I've
seen other UK retailers offering. Check out the 'Super Specials', you may need
to wait till what you want comes up on offer though. Currently there's a
15inch for £119+vat and a 17inch for £142+vat
