Never quite understood the "5NN" thing in RTTY...Old dogs, new tricks I
guess...I don't mind having RST as part of the exchange...It acts as a
buffer between the callsign and exchange...
What does drive me a little batty is:
VE1OP VE1OP VE1OP de XXXXXX XXXXXX XXXXXX Thank you for the 599 (42)
(42)...Your report is 599 599 599 (55) (55)
(55)...GL...73...TU...CUL...PSE QSL VIA BURO...VE1OP VE1OP de XXXXXX
XXXXXX PSE KKKKK
That may not be exact letter for letter, but is very close to an actual
report I received this weekend...Talk about a rate-killer in the middle of
an EU pileup Sat morning...I could just see the yawns and dial twisting
going on...BUT, it was 3 points, so thanks to that person for the call, as
you are a member of this group!!...
73, Scott VE1OP
