Both I and Jim KD0S have had the noisy monitor issue, and have resorted to
purchasing monitors that are more quiet. The only way we got the job done
was to test individual monitors from a computer store that would let us do
that. Some will let you do that, and some will not.

Have tried the ferrite and it didn't quiet things down enough. Have not
tried wrapping in foil, that may work.

Also, have had instances where the cabling to the radio from the computer
ran next to a monitor, and it caused a lot of hum/ noise problems.

I wish you the best, 73 HNY and God Bless!

> Have you tried wrapping the monitor cable with foil. Not all video cables
are created equal. If this does not help try wrapping the monitor making
sure to slit the or punch the foil for all of the vent/cooling holes in the
case. A pencil will work well for opening up the vents.

meter band that almost obliterates the PSK-31/RTTY section of the band. I
have tried the available chokes from Radio Shack with no improvement. This
interference also effects 15meters slightly. No problems with 40 or 80
meters.

have returned to point of purchase for exchange which they did but the
problem persists.

solder joints and they are good.
