I think you left out a zero. 

Many years ago I knew a fellow who claimed he could hear much higher
than 20 kHz. Being a skeptic, I challenged him to a test. I hooked up
an audio oscillator to some headphones and tested him. I forget the
exact frequency he reached, but it was over 30 kHz. Amazing.
