Guess its a matter whether you are a ham radio operator who likes to build
things or one who just wants to spend money and get 'er going.

CW, FSK, and PTT for a couple of bucks all in one box and a device like the
K4DSP project that is pretty slick for around $20.  But I build my
interfaces, some like to buy interfaces but to answer your question, I'm
retired and my time and building is a major part of my hobby.

But a multi-port com board is sure far cheaper than some solutions.  But
paying the price of most Terminal Units, KAM, PK232, DXP38 for a interface
seems a bit much.
