There are two things I don't like about 75 baud RTTY contests.  The 
transmissions are so short that by the time you get a signal tuned while S&P, 
the message has ended and you have to wait for another transmission.  And as 
Kostas noted, it is extremely hard to print weak stations.  Signals that would 
be difficult to print at 45 baud, are impossible to print at 75.  This was 
particularly true Sunday when I was on 15 meters.  I could tell there were many 
of what I believed were European stations calling, but I couldn't print 
anything.
 
75 baud is good for Sprints and domestic contests, but 45 baud is better for DX 
contests.
