A lot of stations break the ID rule in contests.

That's true, but that does not make it right. We seem to have a lot of
stations who want speed over all.
Personally I don't see it as a major problem to ID after every exchange.
My macros:
1. After exchange: (other station call) TU QRZ WG7X
2. When S&P Exchange: (other stations call) TU 599 (contest exchange) WG7X
A couple of seconds lost to be sure, but it makes me feel better about
the whole station ID thing. Personally, it makes no difference to me if
the other stations disregard their countries regulations, its their problem.
I'll never be a big time contest station, but at least I can participate
and feel good about it.
The strangest thing I heard last week-end was some one using 5NN in the
exchange. When I see that I know that I'm not the only non-hard-core
contest OP out there, but at least I'm not totally clueless!
